Today Senator McCaskill, Senator Webb, and Senator Ayotte wrote to the Government Accountability Office to request a review of how Executive Branch departments and agencies have addressed the findings and recommendations of the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan (CWC). The CWC found a number of systemic failures in contingency contracting planning, execution, and oversight over the course of its three year mandate, and its recommendations address needed structural changes within departments and agencies in addition to procedural changes to contracting processes across government.
