In a letter sent today, Senator McCaskill asked President Obama to appoint a new Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR). The position of SIGAR, the Inspector General with responsibility to prevent and detect waste, fraud, and abuse in Afghanistan reconstruction, has been vacant since January 2011.
