Chairman McCaskill Seeks Answers From State Department on $132 Million in Contract Costs for Building the U.S. Embassy in Iraq

Today Chairman McCaskill questioned why the State Department had not yet acted on its own Inspector General’s recommendation to recover $132 million in questionable costs from First Kuwaiti for construction the new Embassy in Baghdad.  Despite the fact that IG provided all necessary supporting documentation to the State Department, the Department has yet to take steps to recover this money from First Kuwaiti.
