WASHINGTON — Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said this in response to the attack at Pulse Orlando, a nightclub in Orlando, Fla., Sunday morning. Authorities say about 50 people died in the attack, and they labeled it an act of terrorism.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and the brave men and women who risked their lives to save others. My committee will work to support the federal role in investigating this terror attack and protecting against further threats. As Americans we must unite to defeat terrorism’s threat to our nation’s security.”
