WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released the following statement regarding the March 22 attacks in Brussels, Belgium:
“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these horrific attacks, the people of Belgium and our friends and allies across Europe. I am closely monitoring this situation and will continue to do so as we learn more from our partners overseas. Here at home, we must remain ever vigilant in our efforts to protect Americans. Coordination and the sharing of information between federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, and state and local law enforcement is vital to these efforts, as is the practice of reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement by following the motto, ‘if you see something, say something.’”
