LIEBERMAN PRAISES CHOICE OF NOMINEE FOR GAO COMPTROLLER GENERAL

WASHINGTON – Communications Director Leslie Phillips issued the following statement on behalf of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., on the choice of Gene Dodaro as nominee for Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office. Dodaro has been serving as Acting Comptroller General since March 2008.

“Senator Lieberman is delighted that Mr. Dodaro has been nominated for the job he has been performing for the last two and a half years. The Senator has always thought Mr. Dodaro was an effective leader at GAO and a valued advisor to Congress. His nearly four decades of experience at GAO more than qualifies him for this key position. His agency has performed top- notch work for Congress, and our Committee relies heavily on GAO’s valuable resources. The Senator wishes Mr. Dodaro all the best as his nomination proceeds through the Senate.”
