The Next Big Disaster: Is the Private Sector Prepared?

This hearing reviewed lessons learned from previous man-made and natural disasters and how to improve preparedness activities to maintain economic sustainability after a disaster strikes. This hearing specifically addressed improving private sector integration in preparedness activities at all levels of government. This hearing was a broad overview that will provide the opportunity to air innovative ideas and collect emerging themes. These themes included information and technology issues, improving critical infrastructure protection and improving public-private partnerships.
