Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Reports Key Trump Nominees Favorably Out of Homeland Security Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Gary Peters (D-MI), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, convened a business meeting today, Monday, June 30th, during which the Committee voted to report five of President Donald Trump’s nominees favorably to the full Senate. The nominees will now move one step closer to confirmation to serve in critical roles across the Administration.

The following nominees were reported favorably out of the Committee:

  • Sean Cairncross, to serve as National Cyber Director, Executive Office of the President (roll call:11-1)
  • Robert Law, to serve as Under Secretary for Strategy, Policy, and Plans, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (roll call: 8-4)
  • James Percival, to serve as General Counsel, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (roll call: 8-4)
  • Kevin Rhodes, to serve as Administrator for Federal Procurement Policy, Office of Management and Budget (roll call: 8-4)
  • James Woodruff II, to serve as Member, Merit Systems Protection Board (roll call: 8-4)
