Agenda
Due to its integral role in executive oversight, Congress seeks to ensure that Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) functions efficiently and has the resources it needs to conduct rigorous oversight of agency regulatory analysis and provide adequate direction and resources to agencies to improve the rulemaking process. In this hearing, the Subcommittee explored ways in which OIRA might leverage its role in the federal rulemaking process to improve certain agency regulatory actions and facilitate greater transparency. In addition, the Subcommittee encouraged OIRA to take measures responsive to concerns about agency avoidance of OIRA review.
