WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chairman Rand Paul (R-KY) of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee convened a business meeting today, Wednesday July 22nd, during which the Committee voted to report 17 of President Donald Trump’s nominees favorably to the full Senate.
The following nominees were reported favorably out of the Committee:
Agreed to en bloc: roll call (7-5)
- Hal Duncan to be Deputy Director, Office of Management and Budget;
- Brian Cavanaugh to be Under Secretary for Management, U.S. Department of Homeland Security;
- Charles Baldis to be Special Counsel, Office of Special Counsel;
- Jeffrey Brodsky to be a Governor, United States Postal Service;
- William Gallo to be a Governor, United States Postal Service;
- James Woodruff II to be Chairman, Merit Systems Protection Board;
- Charlton Allen to be General Counsel, Federal Labor Relations Authority;
Agreed to en bloc: roll call (10-2)
- James A. Crowell IV to be an Associate Judge, District of Columbia Court of Appeals;
- Stuart G. Nash to be an Associate Judge, District of Columbia Court of Appeals;
- Christopher M. De Bono to be an Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia;
- Michael C. DiLorenzo to be an Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia;
- Sharon E. Goodie to be an Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia;
- Craig E. Leen to be an Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia;
- Christine M. Macey to be an Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia;
- John B. Timmer to be an Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Agreed to with an individual vote:
- Cameron Hamilton to be Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (roll call: 8-4);
- Honorable Bradford P. Wilson to be Archivist, National Archives and Records Administration (roll call: 10-2)
“As promised, these nominees have moved quickly through my committee and will now advance to the full Senate for confirmation. I would also note that Cameron Hamilton is an excellent choice by President Trump to serve as FEMA Director and will do a great job. I have supported his selection since the President first tapped him earlier this year, and having spoken with him directly about Kentucky’s issues, I have no doubt he will be attentive to our Commonwealth’s needs.” said Chairman Paul.
