This was a joint hearing held by the Special Committee on Aging and the Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, The Federal Workforce and the District of Columbia. The hearing examined the 25 percent increase in the monthly premium that nearly 150,000 enrollees in the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP) may soon face, the circumstances leading to the dramatic and unexpected increase, and options for ensuring the viability of this insurance coverage.
