Individuals with disabilities who require an auxiliary aid or service should contact Aaron Woolf, Subcommittee Chief Clerk, no later than 3 business days before the hearings. This will allow the office a reasonable amount of time before the event to make any necessary arrangements.
The Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce and the District of Columbia held a joint hearing with the Subcommittee on Disaster Recovery and Intergovernmental Affairs. The purpose of the hearing was to examine the National Capital Region’s emergency preparedness and response. The National Capital Region presents unique challenges to emergency management because of the large Federal presence and the involvement of numerous jurisdictions. This hearing addressed strategic planning in the National Capital Region, opportunities to reduce duplication of efforts, decision-making authority in a crisis, and communication capabilities.
